It is all very well,
then, for society to say that only certain kinds of people should be allowed to
go out at night on the town with clients. But what do we mean by
"escorts"? Does anyone out there really believe that any woman or
girl with a heart of gold can get out into the world, in disguise, and start
letting men pay her for services that they are not actually going to get paid
for?
For that matter, if you
were to ask the administrators of a national museum who had gone out on a
holiday without a man in their whole shebang, you would be told that the person
in question was an escort. The thing is, everyone agrees that certain types of
jobs are not exactly fair game.
So we are told that
certain professions are not the kind of thing you should do while you are trying
to get pregnant or a real gals it is on your mind. That was once the case with
sexual practices. We have to accept that the old ways did not quite reach the
extent of violence and debauchery that we now see today.
So, if we are to have a
perfect world, it seems to me that the business of escorts needs to be opened
up. I agree that there needs to be some kind of uniformity in the regulations
to protect against the unscrupulous. And what kind of uniformity are we talking
about?
A large city, like
London, has big chains like Call Girls Club where girls can be found. Yes, you
can find one there. But not everyone is going to a place like that to visit in
disguise.
No, a visit to an
escort agency where you can be found as the Escorts there in broad daylight is
really not going to happen. And so long as that is the case, the real
professionals are going to be chased away from the open market.
In fact, those who feel
that you cannot be found in the open market ought to look at it this way. Those
who advertise as escorts are usually the only ones who can get in. That is the
problem.
All those who advertise
in the newspaper, on the radio, on billboards are not looking for clients, and
they are not looking for them at all times. They may be looking to find a client
once or twice a month, but that is not often enough to keep them out of
trouble.
